I also teach specialised courses focusing on specific disciplines, and run regular training camps for a more practical training experience.

Molchanovs Education System

Taking a course is one of the best ways to learn new skills and expand your knowledge, however, it can be very difficult to develop your new found skills and understanding over a short space of time. Molchanovs have identified this and aimed to bridge the gap between courses and provide access to free, community based training guidance upon completion of a course.

Molchanovs Freediving Education can take you from learning the basics of freediving through to an elite competition freediver. There are four open water course levels, each of which is known as a Wave. All levels are also available as Lap courses. Lap courses cover the same theory and pool requirements as the corresponding Wave course but do not include open water sessions. Therefore, a Lap certification only certifies you to freedive in a pool. It does not certify you to freedive to depth in open water. You can easily convert a Lap certification to the corresponding Wave certification at a later date by adding the open water sessions.


Wave Courses


WAVE 1 BEGINNER COURSE

Course Duration: 2 – 3 Days

Includes:
2 x Dive Session
1 x Pool Session
1 x Theory Session

This is where students begin their journey and discover the body’s natural aquatic potential, during this course students will learn the basics of freediving in the pool and open water. Students will be given the skills and knowledge to allow them to dive to depths of 12 – 20 meters and breath holds of over one and a half minutes.

WAVE 2 INTERMEDIATE COURSE

Course Duration: 3 – 4 Days

Includes:
3 x Dive Session
1 x Pool Session
2 x Theory Session


During Wave 2 students will learn how to tune their freediving through training while also acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to allow them to dive to depths of 24 – 30 meters and be able to perform breath holds of over two and a half minutes. They will learn how to identify and improve individual elements in order to allow them to take their freediving to the next level.

WAVE 3 ADVANCED COURSE

Course Duration 4 – 5 Days

Includes:
5 x Dive Sessions
2 x Pool Sessions
4 x Theory Sessions
Students will learn how to maximize their performances while staying relaxed both physically and mentally. A strong emphasis is placed on the topic of deep equalization which will allow students to equalize and dive below residual volume. Upon completion of the course students will have the tools and knowledge to allow them to dive to depths of 32 – 40 meters and perform breath holds of over three and a half minutes. After completing this course students will be allowed to take the Molchanovs instructor course.

Lap 1

  • 1 x theory session
  • 2 x pool sessions

Students learn the basics of pool freediving and to use relaxation to improve their performances. Topics include the introduction to freediving breathing, finning and no fins techniques, dive visualization and much more. Course duration is typically 2 days.

 

Lap 2

  • 1 x theory session
  • 3 x pool sessions

Students learn to train the specific elements of their body which contributes to larger pool performances. Topics include an introduction to the dolphin kick, mastering no fins, deconcentration, and much more. The course duration is typically 2 days. After completing Lap 2, you may take the depth component to upgrade to Wave 2.

Lap 3

  • 2 x theory sessions
  • 4 x pool sessions

Students learn advanced training techniques to improve upon their maximum performances. Topics include technique refinement, advancing individual efficiency, flexibility exercises, and more. The course duration is typically 3-4 days. After completing Lap 3, you may take the depth component to upgrade to Wave 3.
